When I was watching a movie, I thought of a question: Is the protagonist in a gangster movie a hero? In this play, some people may say that the protagonist is a hero.
The definition of a hero should have nothing to do with social form, because society is always influenced by those in power, forming some secular values, and a rebel in one society may be a hero in another society, such as those who rebelled in ancient times peasants, such as officials who violated the emperor's will, may be defined as "heroes" in contemporary times, the rebels of feudal society, so is it possible that some people in this era may also become heroes in a future period? Therefore, consensus does not define a hero.
So, is simply resisting the oppression of those in power the definition of a hero?
Perhaps, the measure of heroes should be more universal, involving deeper levels of human nature, such as sincere perseverance, such as eternal pursuit.
