The movie of the same year as me haha, and now watching the gold award visual effects in 1996 will only feel clumsy and cute, the film technology has really improved by leaps and bounds.
Aside from the special effects, the plot of Independence Day is very good (think about some sci-fi films now, yes, you are Independence Day 2). The aliens are powerful and terrifying, and when they speak with Dr. Orkin's voice belt, a strange puppet feeling blows in his face. Everyone in the last days punks to death, a sense of sight that "you can't even think about how happy I can be". For those who have apocalyptic feelings, there is no better stage to show the human spirit than the last days. Good sci-fi always answers some fundamental question: Who are we? What is our place in the universe? Take away the planes, nuclear bombs and tanks we have created, what kind of spirit does human beings have? Independence Day is a good answer: we are forever free, and we will not go into that night quietly.
(So why did the second part rot like this?
