It reflects the materialistic society and people's indifference to the non-material spiritual level. Imagine how empty the spiritual level is when everything has to be linked to the material. For example, we listen to music and enjoy it. Others need to listen to the high-level parts of music to show that they are superior to others. Anything without a Price tag must be given a price as part of matching its identity. There is bound to be a loss of a part of humanity, compassion, love, etc. The protagonist said that there is only disgust and the like, and once you get used to high-level things, it will be difficult to go back. The choices are getting narrower.
