look and feel

I finally finished watching it. It is estimated that it will take about a month from the day I started watching it to finishing it. Although I watched it off and on for so long, I still have a deep memory.

First of all, this is an intriguing drama. Most of the plots are bland as water, and there are very few intense "big scenes", but the content in it can be said to be very thoughtful and memorable.

Secondly, this narrative style is different from other dramas: the protagonist's memories and current conversations are constantly interspersed, which makes it very difficult to watch if you are not careful. However, this is a very slow-paced drama, you say God is not miraculous. When I'm halfway through the episode, it's when the two main characters kill the two poisoners in the woods. I'm thinking, is this over? Sure enough, there was a reversal.

Furthermore, the excellent acting skills of the two protagonists also add a lot to the drama, especially the complex role of Rust. When Matthew was in the wheelchair for that last crying scene, I realized that the show was all about getting to know the character of Marty, while the character of Rust was just a little bit of a tidbit. What led Rust to become the current Rust was all because of previous experiences, which made the character even more mysterious. I can only say that Matthew's acting is awesome.

Then, the religious and philosophical content in it makes the tone of the whole drama even more bizarre, especially with the participation of high-level government officials, which makes it even darker.

In the end, it's a good show and worth watching.

True Detective quotes

  • Detective Marty Hart: Do you wonder ever if you're a bad man?

Detective Rust Cohle: No. I don't wonder, Marty. World needs bad men. We keep the other bad men from the door.

  • Detective Rust Cohle: If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward, then, brother, that person is a piece of shit - and I'd like to get as many of them out in the open as possible.
