"We all have a past, we all have regrets, and hopefully some things were or weren't done at the time"
Regret medicine, travel through time and space, change fate, what a tempting word.
It's a pity that not all time travels are like family movies, and the happy ending can be picked out in the vast selection. Just like when this male protagonist tried to change the past and save himself again and again, the ending became worse and worse. This is Chaos Theory. In the nonlinear model of life with super multi-parameter +, when you change a parameter, the output is completely unpredictable. What the male protagonist thinks "As long as I can change that tragedy, everything will be fine now". However, after that incident, there are still thousands of tragedies. So, once again fell into the gambler's fallacy. In the face of high rewards, even though the probability is extremely low, you will always feel that your current life is not ideal, and choose to give it a try again. However, with a new round of random events, can you still get that chance again? Maybe, you even lost your hands and left no diary. Or like the male protagonist's father, who didn't leave an album at all and was put in a mental hospital.
So, the next time you face the trivial life and annoying world, don't rush to think "if I didn't have XX at that time", the world will not be better, your destiny is still random. I don't mean to say the disgusting "everything is the best arrangement" for chicken soup.
Yes, life is like shit and there is no best arrangement at all. However, even if the haunted past is changed, the status quo will most likely not change for the better. Instead of regretting, regretting, beating your chest and feet angrily, it is better to clean up your mood and put your determination to be happy today and work hard.
