I thought this movie had two endings

The first ending: The young and promising lawyer finally defeated his inner demon and made a righteous choice. This is the ending the movie wants the audience to believe, and it's beautiful. is the side of God.
The second ending: At the moment of death, the young and promising lawyer broke free from the temptation of the devil and achieved self-redemption. Although he can still return to the embrace of God, he has made a big mistake. This is the ending the movie doesn't want the audience to accept, it's evil and cruel. But it is close to reality, and it is a common choice or phenomenon in today's society. I call it the devil's side.
At the end of the film, Pacino appears again. What does the director want to express? I understand what he wants to tell us: we encounter choices again and again in our lives, and we may fall into the trap of vanity again and again, and fall into the trap of the devil. The key is to choose according to our free will. God and the devil are a contradictory unity. They may live in heaven and hell, or they may live in our hearts!

Photography, soundtracks, scripts, and performances are all a great enjoyment. Director Taylor Hackford has solid guiding skills, shooting surreal scenes that are weird and pleasing to the eye, portraying people’s desires and sins very uniquely (praise the body of Theron)- --Vanity, definitely my favorite sin.

  • Eddie Barzoon: Did you get my message?

John Milton: Yeah Eddie, you write beautiful!

  • John Milton: There's this beautiful girl just fucked me forty ways from Sunday... we're done, she's walking to the bathroom, she's trying to walk, she turns... she looks... it's me. Not the Trojan army just fucked her. Little ol' me. She has this look on her face like: "How the hell did that happen?"
