The image of Totoro is well known to the world, but today is the first time I have seen the story of Totoro. Strangely, my first reaction was vaguely a Japanese manga version of Pan's Labyrinth. After all, God Pan has been watching it for 10 years, and his impression is already blurred. When I went home and checked the information, I found many amazing similarities: a seriously ill mother, a 12-year-old sister, an innocent younger brother, a forest labyrinth, an underground kingdom, and Pan who is an animal incarnation. God, the world that only children can see... is also clear and blurred, realistic and dreamy; the difference is that Pan is lurking under the dark Faxis military camp, while Totoro lives in seclusion in the warm Kanto countryside. But I still got it wrong: this Totoro is a restoration and re-release of the old 1988 movie, and Pan won three Oscars in 2007. It is very likely that "Pan's Labyrinth" borrowed from Miyazaki's "My Neighbor Totoro".
In the movie 30 years ago, Lang Lang's childhood was full of healing. When you see the girl's father's name is Kusakabe Dalang, you will definitely smile and have a happy ending.
