I saw this movie when I was a child, and I saw it as a love movie. Now it seems to have some bright spots.
Edward's job is to buy companies at low prices and then split them up and sell them. This is not only a waste of energy, connections, and financial resources, but also slow returns (slow returns do not mean low returns). Buying low and selling high is also better than doing a first-level job. Listed and secondary securities trading are more challenging. And the male protagonist is a very observant person who can accurately estimate and bargain.
Vivian is a super clear-headed girl, and she is also observant, bargain, and aggressive. On the other hand, men and women are both high-risk and high-reward occupations and do not like conservative and boring lives. In a sense, they are actually quite similar, but the public can't accept it, so they can only be regarded as fairy tales in movies.
Just as a love fairy tale, this 90s love film is also quite powerful. From the contradiction between the male and female protagonists, their characters, including the rhythm and soundtrack of the whole movie, are quite good.
