Captain Sally is really good-looking. After watching the movie, I couldn't help but look for relevant reports on this matter, and found that the real Captain Sally is a hero as great as the movie captain! ! It's really admirable! !

US Airways Flight 1549 crashed into the Hudson River Miracle: On January 15, 2009, a US Airways passenger plane malfunctioned after taking off from Long Island, New York. The pilot responded quickly and drove the passenger plane to avoid the densely populated neighborhoods of New York before crashing into the Hudson River unscathed. Rescuers on the ground responded promptly. All 155 people on board were rescued. That's why New York Governor David Patterson called the crash with no fatalities the miracle of the Hudson River. The reason for the emergency landing was that the plane flew into the Hudson River and descended slowly by gliding. The tail of the aircraft touched the water first, and then the belly contacted the water surface and taxied. The No. 1 engine on the left side of the aircraft fell off and sank to the bottom of the river during the taxiing. Eventually, the plane stopped taxiing near Manhattan, with the fuselage largely intact. The initial report of the incident investigation determined that the reason for the loss of power was because the aircraft encountered a flock of Canadian branta geese during the climb, and the engine may have sucked in several of these migratory birds. The plane was salvaged from the water two days after the crash to investigate further the cause of the crash. After the incident, the captain was generally regarded as a hero by the survivors and the American people (especially New York citizens), because he was in danger when the plane crashed, and he made a sudden landing on the river with superb technology. Everyone on the plane survived, and when evacuating passengers, he checked the cabin twice to make sure no passengers were trapped before leaving the cabin last. Capt. Sullenberger joined US Airways in 1980 and had previous experience flying F-4 fighter jets in the U.S. Air Force. He has also participated in the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to assist in the investigation of aircraft crashes, and taught at the University of California, Berkeley, researching disaster crisis management. Therefore, it is generally believed that the captain's rich experience and the concept of crisis management are the reasons why he can safely make the passenger plane make an emergency landing on the river.

Sully quotes

  • LT Cook: A pilot never stops acquiring knowledge. You'll make mistakes, everyone does. Just learn from them.

Sully (16 Years Old): Yes, sir.

LT Cook: And never forget, no matter what's happening, to fly the airplane.

  • Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger: [New York late at night and both men can't sleep so they decide to go for a walk. It's cold outside and both are bundled up] It's all so unreal. I guess I'm just having a little trouble separating reality from whatever the hell this is.

Jeff Skiles: This is two men freezing their asses off.

    [They both laugh]

    Jeff Skiles: Sully

    [pause]

Jeff Skiles: don't worry. You did a great thing and it's going to be remembered for a very long time.

Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger: Funny thing is, I've delivered a million passengers over 40 years in the air and in the end I'll be judged on 208 seconds.

Jeff Skiles: Come on. Tomorrow's going to be a good day. Computer SIMS will prove you were right and we can all put our wings back on.

Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger: Do you want to run?

[Both men go jogging on down the street]
