The history of mankind is full of conflicts and genocide between civilizations. Writing history has always been the prerogative of the victors, the losers have no right to speak, not to mention the missing dead. Even if by chance someone among the victors finds out in their conscience and acts as a spokesperson for the dead, what about these endorsements? Either it is superficial and pale, or it is caught in the inevitable contradiction, unable to extricate itself. Even if someone can justify it, what's the point of it for the dead, other than letting the victors sigh? How much can be saved from the carnage that has already occurred? "Justice delayed is injustice". Besides, humans are so good at forgetting.
Perhaps only the mountains, rivers, grasslands and forests have the qualifications and ability to speak for the dead, but they are always silent when they face us.
The title of the article comes from a science fiction novel, Advocate for the Dead, written by American author Card. It is also a story about advocating for the dead. It is a classic that I missed when I was crazy about reading science fiction, and I must make it up in the future.
