"The Advocate of the Dead"

Such beautiful movies always break my heart. Thanks to the director, for ending the film before the massacre that had already happened, I have a heavy heart, but I finally held back my tears.
The history of mankind is full of conflicts and genocide between civilizations. Writing history has always been the prerogative of the victors, the losers have no right to speak, not to mention the missing dead. Even if by chance someone among the victors finds out in their conscience and acts as a spokesperson for the dead, what about these endorsements? Either it is superficial and pale, or it is caught in the inevitable contradiction, unable to extricate itself. Even if someone can justify it, what's the point of it for the dead, other than letting the victors sigh? How much can be saved from the carnage that has already occurred? "Justice delayed is injustice". Besides, humans are so good at forgetting.
Perhaps only the mountains, rivers, grasslands and forests have the qualifications and ability to speak for the dead, but they are always silent when they face us.
The title of the article comes from a science fiction novel, Advocate for the Dead, written by American author Card. It is also a story about advocating for the dead. It is a classic that I missed when I was crazy about reading science fiction, and I must make it up in the future.

1.28 236min director's cut version, every shot is meaningful. Experience, call and choice, fate and coincidence, are as irresistible as flowing water. The concept of humans is not big, but wildness prevails, nature reveals no concealment, cultural purity, no boundaries between right and wrong, and the wheels of history are crushed to perceive the helplessness in it. It doesn't matter whether it is criticism or tragedy, only one can tell whether it is an enemy or a friend.

It came out slowly. The story is interesting, the Indians, the awe of nature, etc. There are also many clichés. Basically, I can guess the next plot. It is a routine work. Many animals died in order to make this film, right? The director’s temperament and photography are worth three stars, and everything else is general, even more fucking

Dances with Wolves quotes

  • [Ten Bears shows Dunbar an old Spanish Conquistador's helmet]

Ten Bears: [in Lakota; subtitled] The white men who wore this came around the time of my grandfather's grandfather. Eventually we drove them out. Then the Mexicans came. But they do not come here any more. In my own time, the Texans. They have been like all the others. They take without asking. But I think you are right. I think they will keep coming. When I think of that, I look at this helmet. I don't know if we are ready for these people. Our country is all that we have, and we will fight to keep it.
