The film is so full of tricks and the art of deception that viewers who watch it may feel like they've been defeated by the director's masterful deception. To avenge their best friend and boss, Paul Newman and Robert Redford orchestrate an elaborate scam to lure gang leader Robert Shaw. So it's not such an unconscionable accident that Rayford slaps Newman in the film's climactic shootout-isn't that the case with all hoaxes? But audiences and critics enjoyed the trap so much because it wasn't pretentious at all. This allowed "Deception" to win the 46th Academy Award for Best Picture.

Luke leads a scam syndicate in Yoriet, near Chicago. On this day, his subordinates handed him a large sum of money that he had just defrauded. Before long, Luke was murdered. It turns out that this money is the money that Chicago underworld boss Lonnigan (Robert Shaw) has just recovered, and it is this money that makes Luke burn out.

Hooker (Robert Redford) is one of Luke's subordinates. Luke treats him like his own son and wants to introduce him to Chicago's good friend Gondorf (Paul Newman) before his death. Study art. Vowing to avenge Luke, Hook travels to Chicago to find Gondorff. Hooker successfully found Gondorff, and when he heard that his opponent this time was Lonnigan, Gondorff immediately geared up. So, a seamless deception plan began!

The scam is wonderful, but there are too many people involved.

The movie 40 years ago still seems so classic now, and it can tell a story so exciting, so Paul Newman is really handsome.
