The film was shot at the Shepperton Studios in the United Kingdom on December 29, 1965. The producer chose there because the studio can accommodate and shoot the excavation scene of the Tycho Crater on the moon (size 60' x 120'x 60'). Beginning in 1966, the crew moved to MGM UK Studios in Bohemwood in order to shoot large-scale special effects scenes.
The producer originally planned to shoot the film with the three-screen width of the new art Rama system like "Western Development", but the director of photographic effects Douglas Trumbh thought that the film would be distorted, so he switched to Super Panavision 70. Part of the narrative rhythm is sacrificed, but the complete world constructed is astounding. I think I'm going to run away: How could this be a 1968 movie! ! ! How could this be a 1968 movie! ! ! It's anti-science and anti-ethics! ! !

For any era, it is extremely extravagant to put these lens language, soundtrack, and industrial design in a science fiction movie, or put it in a movie. From a beauty point of view, this is a benchmark. Kubrick created a universe rooted in the human heart, making science fiction models seem to have a sense of life. Comparing "Gravity" with it, it looks kitsch in style. It's as if Yang Mi met Brigitte Lin.

2001: A Space Odyssey quotes

  • HAL: I am feeling much better now.

  • Dr. Andrei Smyslov: Dr. Floyd, at the risk of pressing you on a point you seem reticent to discuss, may I ask you a straightforward question?

    Dr. Floyd: Well, certainly.

Dr. Andrei Smyslov: Quite frankly, we have had some very reliable intelligence reports that quite a serious epidemic has broken out at Clavius, something apparently of an unknown origin. Is this in fact what has happened?

Dr. Floyd: Ehm, sorry Dr Smyslov, but, er, I'm really not at liberty to discuss this.

Dr. Andrei Smyslov: I understand. But this epidemic could quite easily spread to our Base, we should be given all the facts, Dr. Floyd.

Dr. Floyd: Yes, I know. As I said, I'm not at liberty to discuss it.
