The film is full of the director's deep sorrow for the city of New York. There are photos of firefighters falling from outside the walls of the old Brogan's bar, which makes people reminiscent of 9.11. In the film, Monty sits with her dog in Brooklyn, staring at the entire lower Manhattan lens not so much as the need of the character, as it is more the need of Spike Lee's feelings. Spike Lee photographed all that New York, the city where Monti is about to bid farewell: dirty air, people's sorrow, and anger. There is a sad taste in his lens after 9.11. In the original novel, the invisible city background became the foreground in Spike's lens and was stared sadly. Rodriguel Pleueto, who had been in charge of "Frida" and "8 Miles", adds a lot to the film. At the same time, the gloomy music performed by the musician Terrence Blanchard who collaborated with Spike Lee also fits into the lens of the movie.
