A Beautiful Mind Filming

In order to enhance the realism and emotional appeal of the film, the main creative staff decided to shoot in the chronological order of the story. Although this means that the shooting cost will increase significantly, it will help the actors to be more engaged in the performance. Before the filming started, Howard arranged a two-week rehearsal and invited John Nash, who was over seventy years old, to come to the scene to guide him. In order to make the mathematics-related content of the film accurate and credible, during the filming,, a mathematics professor at Barnard College, came to the set every day to check the details of mathematics.
In order to create a "golden-yellow" effect in the campus scene at the beginning of the film, the crew used a low-contrast motion picture filmand exposed the film to yellow light before loading it into the camera for shooting.
The Nobel Prize Ceremony was filmed in the Rigorous Auditorium of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. For this scene, the film crew spent more than 8 hours on setting and makeup. However, the subsequent scenes in the hall were shot in other locations.

There is only a fine line between genius and lunatic

  • Eino 2021-10-20 18:58:29

Contrasting with the recent "Theory of Everything", they are both great geniuses who have suffered mentally or physically, and strong women who have fallen in love with geniuses. Both biopics play down the moral flaws of the posters, and at the same time beautify their wives. In real life, the two wives had both divorced because of their unbearable feelings. But Nash was luckier than Hawking. Even if she divorced, she never gave up loving him. The two remarried in 2001. Jane married someone else

A Beautiful Mind quotes

  • Nash: In competitive behavior someone always loses.

Charles: Well, my niece knows that, John, and she's about this high.

Nash: See if I derive an equilibrium where prevalence is a non-singular event where nobody loses, can you imagine the effect that would have on conflict scenarios, arm negotiations...

Charles: When did you last eat?

    Nash: ...currency exchange?

Charles: When did you last eat? You know, food.

Nash: You have no respect for cognitive reverie, you know that?

Charles: Yes. But pizza - now, pizza I have enormous respect for. And of course beer.

    [leaves]

Nash: [throws stuff down and follows] I have respect for beer. I have respect for beer!

  • Hansen: Cowards, all of you. Come on. Whoever wins, Sol does his laundry for the semester.

Sol: Does that seem unfair to anybody?

    Bender: No, not at all.
