12-year-old Alice Spage (Paula E. Sheppard) comes from a single-parent family with her mother Katherine (Linda Miller) and sister Karen ( Brooke Shields ). Katherine gave Karen almost all her maternal love, while Alice seemed to be forgotten. Her character is thus increasingly rebellious and distorted.
After the first communion, Karen is brutally murdered, and all the evidence points to Alice. Soon after, Catherine's sister Anne is stabbed, and she accuses Alice of murdering her. The little girl is then asked to undergo psychological counseling under the supervision of her parents, but only Alice's father (Niles McMaster) believes her daughter is innocent, and he runs around to find the real murderer and to prove Alice's innocence   .
