Ivy Singh is a Jew. He is a neurotic and a bit sloppy comedian, always with the cowardice, hesitation and sensitivity of little intellectuals. Life without a girlfriend for many years made him feel at ease. One day, his friend and TV director Rob asked him to play tennis, so he met Annie.
Anne Hall is a country girl who came to the city, and she wanted to become a singer with an illusion of a big city. Ivey was overwhelmed by Anne's charm and fell in love with this lively and fashionable girl almost madly. As a result, the two decided to live together, and Annie officially moved to Ivey's residence. At the beginning, the two people were happy and got along very happily, but after a while the two had a crack. Ivey visited Annie's house, and Annie's parents were obviously not interested in this little neurotic little city man.
Annie started to work and sing in Manhattan nightclubs. Once, after she successfully sang, a songwriter Tony Rossi became interested in her. Rossi is a pervert, coveting Anne's beauty and talent. He used fancy words to persuade Annie to go to Hollywood with him. Annie has always longed for a star life, and her relationship with Ivey is in crisis. Of course, she can't refuse this temptation. By the time Ivey meets Annie again, the love between the two has already seemed like a life.

The sad love story may be the pinnacle of Woody Allen. A variety of expressions are extremely experimental, such as split screen and time-space superimposition in tribute to Bergman. Of course, the most classic is still to break the screen limit The "separation". It shows the love of an extroverted autistic patient in a semi-autobiographical form with black humor and witty words, and there is no lack of his eternal theme: the satire of the "big studio system"

Annie Hall quotes

  • Alvy Singer: [to the waitress] I'll have corned beef, please.

Annie Hall: [to the waitress] I'm gonna have pastrami on white bread with mayonnaise, tomatoes, and lettuce.

  • Alvy Singer: Lately the strangest things have been going through my mind, 'cause I turned forty, and I guess I'm going through a life crisis or something, I don't know. I - and I'm not worried about aging. I'm not one of those characters, you know. Although I'm balding slightly on top, that's about the worst you can say about me. I, uh, I think I'm gonna get better as I get older, you know? I think I'm gonna be the - the balding virile type, you know, as opposed to say the, uh, distinguished gray, for instance, you know? Unless I'm neither of those two. Unless I'm one of those guys with saliva dribbling out of his mouth who wanders into a cafeteria with a shopping bag screaming about socialism.
