"Al final del túnel" is very different from many commercial films that focus on thrillers and crimes. At the beginning, the rhythm is so slow that it is unimaginable that the movie is related to the supposedly intense and exciting bank robbery. After carefully sorting out the clues and fragments of the film, it was found that the director took about an hour and a half to pave the way for the final 20-minute reversal.
"Al final del túnel" is a commercial film no matter how you look at it. Because of the excessive emphasis on design, it ignores its appreciation. In the first half, the tone of the film is gentle and headstrong, densely packed with threads, but it does not give the audience time to digest it. Genre films are not impossible to go in fine, suspense and horror can be set off and rendered in a slow tone, but crime is so intense and race against time, deliberately polished and reversed, it is inevitable that it will be top-heavy. Audiences who are accustomed to Hollywood commercial routines cannot bear such a slow-key crime story.
Furthermore, the director wants to establish a complicated personality, but the love between the male and female protagonist is untenable and lacks the thickness of time, because a large space is used to pave the way. Regardless of the amount of foreshadowing, the precision and density are very high, and many pictures still have to rely on reasoning, which is too easy to cause misunderstandings. Of course, by digging out the established routines of commercial film logic and acknowledging the logic behind film crimes, the film does have its flaws.
Or just follow the film’s personality and slow-moving rhythm. When viewed as a warm and suspenseful literary and artistic film, crime stories are full of surprises but no danger. The ending is contrasted with the beginning. The male protagonist hiding in the dark in the basement welcomes a new daughter and wife at the end of the tunnel. The sun shone in. Paralysis of the legs is not complete enough, but the new love is enough to fill the heart.
