Although "Ballad of a Soldier" depicts the 19-year-old correspondent Alyosha, he escaped from the writing of the war scenes. The director Chuhlai continued his new wave of creative changes, placing his perspective on the inner world of Alyosha and the inner world of ordinary people during the war, so that their vulnerability in the face of war can be seen at a glance, but on the contrary, the audience feels the same. "Ballad of a Soldier" uses a flashback technique to tell the experience of the sacrificed Alyosha returning home for the last time. Regarding Alyosha's death, the film only gave a brief explanation at the beginning.
