Filming began in June 1991. The crew occupied Warner Bros. Studio No. 16 and Universal Studios No. 12. The former was used to build Gotham City Plaza and the latter was used to build underground penguin nests. In addition to these two largest studios in Hollywood, Warner Bros. also used more than half of the shooting locations to create other Gotham City sets. In order to create a comfortable shooting environment for penguins, a pool of up to 1.5 million gallons was used. During the filming process, the producer always took the penguin’s comfort and safety as the premise. During the air transportation, the temperature in the cabin would drop to 7 degrees. In Hollywood, the producer provided refrigerated trucks, swimming pools and 1.5 tons per day. The ice cubes and the fresh fish they eat were purchased directly from the dock. At that time, the outdoor temperature was 37 degrees, and the temperature of the studio was kept below 2 degrees.
