Due to the shortage of resources during the war, most of the scenes in the film used Warner’s old venue, and only Rick’s cafe was a set set specially for this film. Because the film was shot during World War II, it was not allowed to shoot at the airport after dark for safety reasons, so the crew changed to shooting in a studio. The image of the airplane was made of cardboard, and in order to make the cardboard airplane reflect the real airplane. The film crew asked some children who were not tall to act as ground crews at the airport. Before filming the final scene of the film, no one knew that Ilsa would choose Rick or Victor in the end. So during the filming process, Ingrid Bergman asked the director whether he preferred Rick or Victor in the film. The director told her to act as if he loved both.
