Clerks background creation

The filming took 21 days. A Quick Stop convenience store where Kevin Smith once worked served as the main filming location for the film. Since the filming can only be done during the closing period, so Smith had to add in the joke of someone stuffing gum into the keyhole and closing the blinds, otherwise the dark daytime scene outside the window would definitely be puzzling. Because of the need to work and filming, Smith sleeps less than an hour a day. When the filming draws to a close, Smith is too tired to stay awake.
Faced with stretched funding for the filming, Smith had to find relatives and friends to help out. His mother and sister acted as customers of the convenience store, and his friend Walter Flanagan played the four corners alone. Flanagan had no intention of playing so many roles at first, but whenever the previously finalized actors were unable to be present, Smith would always find Flanagan, who was often on the scene to help, save the field. Smith therefore called it the 90s of the 20th century. Ron Chaney  .

The text subtitles of the DVD have a cloud: the protagonist's name is Dante, and the story takes place both in the convenience store where he works and in his hell. Original sin themes such as carnal gluttony, greed, anger, etc. are all involved in the film. At the same time, this film is also the only film in history that was designated as NC17 without any bloody erotic scenes, which shows that it is foul language. Bringing out the theme of religious original sin in a down-to-earth way can be seen as a packaging strategy for the films of conservative Hollywood writers in the 1990s.
