The story begins in Poland in 1949, when the capitalist and socialist camps just started the Cold War after World War II. A recording vehicle drove through the rubbles of the Polish countryside, looking for records of all the sounds of folk music, from wind to strings, from percussion to vocals. In the car are musician Victor, producer Irena and supervisory officer Kachmarek. They are preparing to establish a youth folk music performance troupe dedicated to performing traditional Polish songs and dances to carry out national performance diplomacy. To this end, they have to select those talented boys and girls from the faces that have experienced suffering and numbness. Goldilocks Zura joined the orchestra with a natural voice, and Victor was the one who met her at a glance. Zula did not really come from a Polish mountain village and had been in jail. Although the producer Irena and the supervisory officer Kachmarek disagreed, Zura was kept because of Victor's insistence. Despite their different backgrounds and status, Victor and Zura still love each other hopelessly. When Zula confessed to Victor that he had been ordered to report his every move to his head, Victor couldn't bear it anymore and he hoped to take Zura away from Poland. Soon they had the opportunity. The manager of the performance troupe won the opportunity to perform in East Berlin. Victor decided to cross the checkpoint privately to West Berlin. However, Zura, who had promised to escape with him, never appeared. In the Cold War era, this choice represented a huge break. The life trajectory of Zura and Victor began to drift away. However, the existence of music and love made the two people desperately want to pull back the two life trajectories, so from Warsaw to Berlin, from Yugoslavia to Paris, the fate of the two intertwined repeatedly. They parted and reunited several times, each time they reunited, they fell in love to the death, and they were often unhappy because of their differences in personalities. They have had other partners, but in the ups and downs of life, they always regard each other as the favorite in life
