The film has a bit of Fassbender's shadow in temperament, but it is calm and solid. The Nazis in it are also humble and reveal a great energy. "Attack from the Sea" does not repeat the old German submarine warfare mythology, focusing on the specific tragic degree of the war. Instead, it uses characters as the core of its creation and delicately portrays a group of crew members who are isolated and helpless hundreds of meters underwater. Their fate encounters set off the tragedy created by the war. ()
As a German, Wolfgang Peterson reflected more on war and human nature in this film describing the German army. ()
