Deliver Us from Evil evaluation action
2022-01-04 08:01
"Deliver Us from Evil" is a bit peculiar. It is structured to track murderers by police officers, mixed with some superpowers and haunted house elements, and borrowed some pseudo-documentary inspirations. The protagonist handles the case with standard police procedures and is gradually enveloped by supernatural powers. If these are interpreted as the perverted psychology of criminals and the mental hallucinations of police detectives, it is a regular police film. It is precisely because of this that it gives the audience the feeling that it is not energetic enough.
Most of the elements of "Deliver Us from Evil" are still working, but the film's progress toward an inevitable climax lacks absolute appeal.
The film is a professional mashup of various film genres, too stupid to look scary. As a midnight movie enjoyment seems slightly boring.
Although the film has screams and blood, the film is too rigid to wake us up to watch the indispensable exorcism ritual.
