In fact, the film is not very suspenseful. Soon after the beginning, the audience was told that this is a story about aliens invading the earth and how a few good friends dealt with this disaster. In this story, John Swithen piled in his most used bridges. And director Lawrence Kasdan put it all on the screen without any shortage. Therefore, the whole movie is very colorful, occupying many classic elements of movies, and finally conveying the message of fragmentation to the audience.
The whole film seems to have a constant climax, but after watching it, I feel that no one is very thrilling. Originally, in the first third of the film, when the aliens were not "upper body", there was still a relatively consistent sense of tension, especially the strange stranger that seemed relaxed and strange, and the scene of the escape of the beasts made it even more so People are very novel. Unfortunately, when the upper body succeeds, the director loses the ability to grasp the overall situation and is completely led by the structure of the novel. Perhaps the audience who is familiar with the novel reads it easily and knows what will happen next, but it is right that he has never read the novel. For the audience, some scenes and time transitions are not only very abrupt, but also quite unnecessary
