"Ferdinand" is not on the line of exquisite beauty. In the farm where Bull Ferdinand grew up when he was a child, the wild flowers on the grass are all the simplest shapes. Even the famous flower festival, the variety of flowers displayed makes people feel simple. I'm used to watching Pixar's exquisite animations, and watching this blue sky studio work, I feel a little rough. In terms of the story, "Ferdinand" doesn't have much brilliance. It still uses the animal world to satirize humans. The story is very simple. There are many shadows of the adult world in the film, rejecting violence, pursuing freedom, and being kind to others. These are the values that Ferdinand conveys to the audience. However, the final climax of the film is too scribbled, and after a laugh, the film does not seem to have much aftertaste.
The film perfectly reproduces the classic story on the screen. The characters are funny, emotional, and rich in content. John Cena interprets the powerful gentle giant very well. Blue Sky Studio unearthed the essence of the original work, and produced a particularly brilliant CG animation, giving the Bull Ferdinand new vitality.
The animation effect of "Ferdinand" is lovely and charming, the dubbing performance is just right, the story rhythm is precise and bright, and it also integrates several themes that are extremely important to the current society.
Although the film appears to cater to people who are easily moved, it still presents the most glamorous core story elements in the original work and gives it other characteristics.
"Ferdinand" unfortunately uses frantic action scenes and annoying supporting characters to hide the message that the original book wants to convey, turning a classic fairy tale into a mediocre animated comedy.
