The background of "Firefly" is set in 2517. After human beings exhausted the earth's resources, they found a new galaxy, and hundreds of new earths were transformed and inhabited by people. The planets at the center of the galaxy formed an alliance and claimed control of the entire galaxy. After the end of a civil war similar to the American Civil War, many excluded independents were forced to come to the desolate edge of the galaxy and rely on basic survival skills to make a living. One of them is veteran Malcolm Reynolds. He and a group of fringe people drive a "Firefly class" spacecraft "Secure" to find their own value and way out in the universe.
