The nightclub where Tony worked was closed for renovations, and a job was desperately needed. A friend suggested that he go to an interview conducted by a doctor of music in order to find a driver. When he arrived at the luxury apartment, he found that the doctor was a black classical music pianist named Tang. The pianist was in need of a driver to take care of the pick-up and drop-off work when he held his southern tour. Of course, both of them knew very well in their hearts that in the southern region where apartheid was severe in the 1960s, they could easily get into trouble, but Tony needs money, and Don needs a professional driver who can take care of him. The record company that paid Tony gave him a "Green Book" guide, which listed places where local blacks can eat and sleep, because many hotels and restaurants are restricted to whites only.

It's been a long time since I saw such a comfortable film. The kernel is of course a cliché, but under this established routine, it is quite good to be able to present it in such a delicate and natural way. The two actors are really nice.

The smooth film, the exquisite routines, and the popular plots that can be imagined along the way, there is basically no big ups and downs, mainly watching the actors, knowing that it is an American routine that has been tried and tested, you will be slightly moved. Maybe this is one of the great places in Hollywood. one.

Green Book quotes

  • Tony Lip: [Surveying the snow] This could get bad, Doc.

Dr. Don Shirley: Yes. It's a shame we don't have something to protect us on our journey. Oh, I know. Why don't you put your lucky rock up on the dash, Tony? Come on, Tony, we need all the help we can get.

[Tony puts the stone on the dash]

Dr. Don Shirley: Thank you. I feel safer already.

Tony Lip: You're a real prick, you know that?

  • Dolores: You hungry?

    Tony Lip: I'm starvin'!
