Kahid, a 40-year-old Turk living in Germanyplayed by Pogel Younel, became depressed because of unemployment. He decided to end his life without dying and was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. In the hospital, he met Sibela second-generation Turkish immigrant girl who also attempted suicide . Siebel, who grew up in Germany, didn't really want to commit suicide, but wanted to take the opportunity to get rid of her rigid parents who abide by the Turkish cultural traditions. She begged Khahid to marry her sham so as to leave her parents. Kashid agreed after hesitating, and the two began to live in the same suite, but each lived a separate life. Siebel fully enjoys the personal freedom she has obtained, drinking, dancing, gathering with friends, and frequently changing boyfriends. The arrival of the young and lively Siebel made the depressed Kashid's heart ignite the hope of starting a new life. He really fell in love with Siebel. At a party, Kahid missed Siebel's boyfriend out of jealousy and went to jail. Siebel realized that she also fell in love with Kashid, who was 20 years older than her. Sibel was finally kicked out of the house by her parents and had to return to Istanbul, Turkey. Before leaving, she visited Kashid in prison, and promised tearfully to wait for him to start a new life together. But when Kashid was finally released after serving his sentence and found Siebel, the latter had already started a new life, with a partner and children, and lived happily. But Kashid was reluctant to give up.

Perhaps this film has put Fatih Akin on the position of a well-known Turkish-German director. He is good at using the various conflicts and contradictions of Turks living in Germany to make films; however, the visibility and appeal of this film are better than I don't personally think that his best work later in 2007, "On the Other Side of Life", was not as good as "Mind Kitchen" in 2009, and then fell out of "Out of thin air" in 2017. The above are all personal opinions. It is expected that he will produce excellent works in the future. After all, movies with Turkish flavor have another kind of viewing value.
