"Hollywood Homicide" is a bit like the Japanese drama "Jumping Search Line", probably Sony Movies invested in the film because of this. The main joke of the film happened to the two protagonists, both of their downfalling lives, and more of the friction when the two were teaming up to solve the case, which became a big attraction of the film
.
The two policemen are not doing their jobs properly. The police is just one job, and there is another more important one. Originally, this idea was good, and it was not divorced from reality. But the American folklore is more passionate. The policemen in TV and movies are all workaholics from "CSI", brave agents from "24 Hours", or undead tough guys from "The Ultimate Detective". If you are used to seeing these high-quality images, look at second-rate police officers. Just can't accept it. Even the production team of the film did not resonate with this concept, and applied the Hollywood stereotypes. Son avenges his father, overcomes psychological trauma, self-identity, etc., as if laziness and gluttony are not human nature, but a symptom of psychopathy
