So Chao Deng and others stood in the heart and lung wind and snow in the environment of tens of degrees below zero in Kuandian in the northeast, experiencing silently until their hands and feet were all numb.

There is a one-second close-up of a hand in the film, but Chao Deng feels that his hand is not rough enough. Later, he thought of a way to rub his hands with local sand until the backs of his hands were worn out. Although it was painful, the rough effect was achieved.

Because Chao Deng is a southerner, his diet is very different and he is not used to the taste of green onion burrito. In a scene, the director repeated several shots in pursuit of perfection, so he also ate no less than 10 scallion burritos. After eating it, it was really hard to swallow. But in order to make the shot more real and natural, Chao Deng still pretended to eat with relish, and didn't stop until the director said it was okay   .

Because of the close friendship between Jiang Maocai and Lu Kuangou in the film, director Xiaogang Feng also asked the two actors Wang Baoqiang and Li Naiwen to work together and cultivate their feelings. The two of them not only live in the same room, they take care of each other in daily life, and they are often inseparable at the scene, which is very helpful for them to understand and express their roles   .
