After the main shooting of the film is completed, it enters the post-production stage. The editing of the film was in charge of Tim Squier, and the soundtrack was served by Maccher Danner. Maccher Danner used the instrumental soundtrack to build the overall structure of the film. For example, the music related to the Junior School is played by the Indian bamboo flute, and the plot of the tiger is the unique and mysterious woodwind sound of the Persian Ney. The soundtrack is not only played by the orchestra, but also played by Indonesian orchestral instruments gamelan, French carillon and accordion, Indian sitar, percussion and mandala chorus. In addition to the creation of the original soundtrack for the movie, Machel Danner and the Indian singer Jayashli wrote the song "The Lullaby for the Boys" for the film.

Life of Pi quotes

  • Pi Patel: [writing on the lifeboat] Words are all I have left to hang on to. Everything's all mixed up, fragmented, can't tell daydreams, nightdreams from reality anymore.

  • [first lines]

Writer: So, you were raised in a zoo?

Adult Pi Patel: Born and raised. In Pondicherry, in what was the French part of India. My father owned the zoo, and I was delivered on short notice by a herpetologist, who was there to check on the Bengal monitor lizard. Mother and I were both healthy, but the poor lizard escaped and was trampled by a frightened cassowary. The way of karma, huh? The way of God.
