"Lolita" elaborated on the dilemma and embarrassment caused by human nature and age differences with the help of various image expressions and lighting scenes, making good use of the technological advantages of modern movies.
From the perspective of the artistic treatment of the subject matter, Ryan's version of "Lolita" chose to vividly render Humbert's love tragedy. The film highlights the tragedy theme of the story is achieved by sorting out and clarifying the plot. In order to make the internal narrative structure of the story reasonable, on the basis of Kubrick's version in 1962, a retrospect of Humbert's sexy girl complex was added. In many details, the Ryan version of "Lolita" seems more faithful to the original, but lacks the irony and jokes in the original, and is more aesthetically sentimental.
