"Oliver" has a broad social background, reflects the colorful poor society, exposes the miserable lives of poor children, and is highly socially critical. Taking Oliver's experience as a clue, the film connects people from all walks of life in all kinds of society. It can be said to be an all-encompassing picture of life, which is amazing. The film described the struggle between good and evil, beauty and ugliness, justice and evil, praised the integrity and kindness of people's nature, and also exposed and criticized the hypocrisy of British charities and the arrogance of the security police at the time. At the same time, it has a strong romantic sentiment and is full of humanitarian feelings. In addition, the film cleverly combines wonderful dances, beautiful songs and rhythmic music with the real natural environment, breaking the heavy atmosphere created by the story itself, and adding vitality and joy to the entire movie. The fly in the ointment is the film’s shaping of Oliver after he joined the thief group. Oliver appeared to have no personality and became a lamb to be directed by others. He lost his resistance, was completely passive, inconsistent, and his personality was not consistent and clear.
