"Persona" is very experimental both in terms of images and themes. Director Ernst Ingmar Bergman uses a lot of editing techniques such as jumpers to give the film an uncompromising and undisguised modernity. The film can be described as a true anthropological study, which explores a series of issues such as social, family and sexual factors being suppressed. Although the film looks a bit abstract and the environment seems closed, Bergman did not limit himself to the perspective of the "center of the subject", but boldly interspersed the images and sounds of the outside world through the use of televisions and radios. The editing came in, creating tension with the two lonely opposing people in the enclosed space, which made the film break through the meaning of pure psychology. It pointed to the strong pressure on people's hearts caused by the turbulent 1960s social situation. The depth of humanity   .
