Continuity: During a storm, Frank stopped to look at the homeless woman, his top button.
Anachronism: The time set for the movie is 1935. The entire movie uses glassware from the Great Depression, and most of it is correct. There is a scene where there is a pair of Watford-style salt and pepper mixers on the kitchen stove. This style was produced by Hocking Glass Companybetween 1938 and 1944. How could Sally Field have something in the kitchen three years before it was made?
Anachronism: The sacrament plate used at the end of the movie does not match the era or the occasion. Although it was common in Canadian church communion services in the United States from the 1940s to the 1950s, this type of dish may be used in the southwestern United States, and its appearance will not be until the late 20th century.
Anachronism: The guitar player is using Martin "Dreadnought" guitar, which has not been invented in the era of the film, and the first time it was sold on the market was in the 1960s.
