In the not-too-distant future, boxing has been replaced by high-tech robots. Humans cannot play the game in person. Instead, they manipulate robots to fight in the arena.
Charlie Kenton () in a 2000 lbs, 6 feet tall robot boxing lost the title. Because he lost the game, Charlie lived in poverty. But before that, Charlie was the most famous boxer in the world and ranked second in the world. Charlie has an eleven-year-old child named Max. Charlie was busy boxing before and never took good care of him. After losing his title, losing his reputation, and having nothing, Charlie had more time to spend with his son. The son who refused to admit defeat encouraged Charlie to go to the warehouse of abandoned robots to find parts and return to make his own robot to participate in the competition. Not many parts were found, but they accidentally found a sparring robot.
This sparring robot was named Adam by Max. Adam has no actual combat experience, only to be beaten. In the beginning, Charlie took him to various small tournaments to raise money, and Adam was beaten "for iron". After a long time, Max realized that this was not possible, and he asked Charlie to teach Adam his boxing skills. Adam was also a clever robot, able to mimic all Charlie's movements brilliantly. Later Adam became a victorious general and became a world-renowned robotic boxer. But Adam wants to prove that he still has a few fierce battles waiting for it. And Charlie also needs Adam's victory to prove his worth and meaning of existence. In the course of these games, Charlie has gained not only victory and reputation, but more importantly, Charlie has established an indestructible emotion with his son Max, who has neglected contact.
