Road to Perdition evaluation action

The reality and fiction of the film are handled very properly. Most of the shots are pushed out of the screen, some are reflected in a mirror, and only a small part is described in the front. Sam Mendes's work is indispensable for the visual "colorful movement", but the film is very stingy, and only a little "big picture" is shown at the end of the film. Although the film is slightly thin in plot and characterization, it has the irresistible feeling of ancient Greek tragedy or mythology, and the style embodied in photography, art and music makes people feel shocked outside the theme.
The film is a bit dull, the part of the shootout has a shadow of a Hong Kong movie, and what attracts people to watch is the wonderful performance of the four male protagonists. This is a purely male film. The affectionateness of the father and son and the stubbornness or perseverance of the man are not shown in the traces. It is worth watching from the beginning.

Not bad, there was only such a piece of clothing for American men in the 1930s, but it was really very practical and kept warm and protected from the rain. Children's clothes are also tight and easy to move around.

Although the plot is not as refined as the Godfather trilogy, and the gang is much smaller, it can look at it all from a different angle. After watching the plot, I was inexplicably moved (with a certain expression). It would be better if the filming could be longer and more rendered~~

Road to Perdition quotes

  • Michael Sullivan: Peter, I can't come to your concert tonight. I'm working.

    Peter Sullivan: Working at what?

Annie Sullivan: Putting food on your plate, young man.

  • Finn McGovern: You tell your father my brother never stole from him. I've checked the books. He never sold no booze to no one. Every single barrel is accounted for. Anyway, if he stole it, where's the money?

Connor Rooney: The fuck should I know? Did you check his mattress?

Finn McGovern: Or maybe you should check yours.

Connor Rooney: Look, there is something immoral here. Don't you think so, Mike? My beloved father throws your undeserving little brother the wake of his life and-and this, this is your "thank you"? What a hideous world this is.

Finn McGovern: You think you're so smart? You think we don't know? I mean, you've been spending so much time in Chicago...

[Connor takes out a pistol and shoots Finn in the head, and a machine gun battle ensues]

    Michael Sullivan: What was that?

Connor Rooney: We're out of here.

Michael Sullivan: Jesus Christ, Connor, what the hell are you thinking?

Connor Rooney: [noticing an obscured figure nearby] What's that?
