A young widow in New Orleans in the United States sued a large consortium and demanded that the other party be held responsible for her husband’s death. Anyone with a discerning eye knows that her behavior is tantamount to being a car. With her huge wealth, it is easy for the opponent to win this lawsuit by manipulating and buying out the jury members.
The widow’s lawyer Wendao Ruhris a man of integrity and a strong sense of morality. And his opponent Lan Jin Finchis a lawyer with brilliant skills, cold personality, and unscrupulous ways to achieve goals. He set up a team to monitor the jury members through high-tech means. He will investigate their lives and strategically select his jury members so that as many reviewers as possible can tell them in court. One side is tilted.
But things are more than that simple. There is a person named Nickon the jury who is also doing his own calculations. In addition, a mysterious woman named Maryis connected with two lawyers. Tell them that as long as you pay, you can guarantee that you can win the lawsuit. Of course, the money will not be a small sum.

The first half is super nice, but the second half can't keep up with the rhythm. But it is a good jury system movie.

Runaway Jury quotes

  • Nicholas Easter: Goodbye, Fitch.

Rankin Fitch: Well, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait... How did you swing 'em, huh? How did you swing 'em your way? I hear you got ten votes. How'd you do that?

Nicholas Easter: [shrugs] I didn't swing anything. I just stopped you from stealing the thing. We let 'em vote their hearts. That means you lose. Enjoy your drink.

  • Wendell Rohr: Is that why you're doing this? To protect the constitution, is that it?

Rankin Fitch: Of course not. I'm in it to win.

    Wendell Rohr: Oh.

Rankin Fitch: Just like you are.

    Wendell Rohr: Yeah.

Rankin Fitch: Because that's what I was hired to do.

    Wendell Rohr: Uh huh.

Rankin Fitch: Everything else is colored bubbles.

Wendell Rohr: Colored bubbles! Colored bubbles? A system that calls for twelve people to sit and listen to testimony of witnesses, fella, and that includes my witness, who you've disappeared!

Rankin Fitch: If you're relying on testimony to win this case, you've already lost it.
