Young Graceand her boyfriend Masonin a Short Term 12. They and other colleagues have to deal with various emergencies of the "problem teenagers" every day. To calm the disputes between them, to help them ease their inner restlessness and anger, and to guide them to tell the pain they have experienced. It sounds easy, but it's hard work, but they never get tired of it. In the process, Grace and her partners lead the fragile Marcus, the poisonous Louis, the lonely Jadenand the introverted SamiStep by step out of the pain, out of the shadows, to welcome the oncoming warm sunshine, and to welcome the beautiful and terrifying "outside world". And Grace herself defeated the demons, walked out of wandering, and prepared to bravely welcome the arrival of new life with Mason.
