Is it so coincidental? I just mentioned Uncle Higashino's "Secret" in a short comment yesterday, and I also reminisced about the movie Hirosue Ryoko I watched in college. I actually saw this movie on TV today, and I didn't even know it before I opened it. I know what the story is, but Agent Mulder (David Duchovny) of X file decided to take a look at the content, but he didn't expect it to be the US version of "The Secret". But to be honest, compared with the Japanese version, this version is too rough. Whether it is emotional performance or the acting skills of the actors, especially the little heroine, it is completely unconvincing that the soul of a middle-aged woman lives in her body. So the whole film also looks like chewing wax. Another day, I will revisit the version of Ryoko Hirosue. I always remember the scene where she smiled and cried in her wedding dress at the end, which was beautiful and heartbreaking.

Before the story happened, the director spent a lot of effort and used a lot of space to explain the characters and start conflicts. These are the parts that are less inked in the Japanese version. The whole context is clear, the plot becomes more real, but it becomes less convincing. Those delicate emotions, inner contradictions, and family ethics have become too rough under the lens of American directors, and the characters have become thin.
