The climax of the film was in the courtroom, and the audience was deaf and mute. In order to reflect this exciting and speechless complex scene, Director Hwang Dong Hyeuk decided to use real deaf and mute people to participate. Although there are many difficulties in communication, Hwang Dong Hyeuk believes that the use of real people with disabilities can more highlight the needs of the plot and shock people.

The budget of the crew is limited. In a scene where school personnel visit Min Soo's home to reconcile with money, the role of Min Soo's grandmother is director Hwang Dong Hyeuk's mother.

The Mercy School scene in the film was filmed in the Gyeonggi Shangzhong. It was also the location where the actor Gong Yoo filmed the TV series "Biscuit Teacher Star Sugar" and "BIG". The same scene, the performance atmosphere is much different.

The film producer did not receive encouragement and help from the local government in the application and adoption of the scene. At the end of the film, the scene where the crowd was driven by water cannons was shot in Daejeon, Chungcheongnam-do.

The film is adapted from a real case. Although there has been a legal verdict on the incident in the film, the verdict in the real world has not yet ended. When the film was released in 2011, it was praised by Lee Myung-bak , the then President of South Korea, and it attracted 5.7 million viewing results. It also triggered a re-raise of an old case signed by millions of people, and the investigation of the case was restarted. In September of the same year, the criminal was sentenced to 12 years in prison and the school was closed. In October of the same year, 208 members of the Korean Council passed the "Partial Amendment Law of the Special Act on Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes" with 207 votes in favor and 1 abstention, also known as the "Silenced Act."
