The archaeologist Dr. Daniel Jackson has studied ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and has his own set of theories about who built the pyramids. However, many people dismissed his views. In order to find strong evidence, Daniel decided to contact the government. The dispatched military squad headed by Colonel Jack O’Neill arrived together at the so-called Stargate, which connects the two worlds. They have to pass through this "gate" and enter the mythical world of the Pharaoh's legend. Before leaving, Catherine gave him a "Eye of Thunder" chain that she had picked up as a child, saying that it would bring him good luck.
Daniel and the team walked through the Stargate, only to find that this was just a desert mining area. They wanted to communicate with the miners. When those people saw the "Eye of Thunder" chain hanging on Daniel's neck, they all bowed down. It turns out that this hanging chain is a symbol of God here. Daniel met a beautiful girl named Shu Rui and found the writings of local history. It records: A man named Lei on a distant planet fled his homeland on the verge of extinction, went to the Milky Way to seek the way of longevity, and finally found human beings on the earth. Lei used a boy’s curiosity to attach to him. After taking a human form, Ray claimed to be a sun god, and he used the interstellar gate to get people on earth here as slaves. A riot broke out on the earth and the Stargate was buried. Lei was afraid that there would be riots here, so people were forbidden to read and write, so that people would not know the truth.
When Lei knew that there was a group of people on the earth, he wanted to use the squad to bring a bomb that was going to blow up the Stargate to destroy the earth. The awakened people and the squad fought against the sun god. The sun god was ready to escape, when the bomb exploded, destroying the sun god's pyramid spacecraft. The people at Stargate regained their freedom.

Commercial movies are the same no matter what era, a very good idea, but it turns out to be scum

Clash of civilizations, tribal struggles, alien creatures intruding, these elements are very familiar at first glance, but after reading it, I found out that it is the work of disaster film expert Emmerich. It's very ambitious, and it can't be simply labeled with disaster or sci-fi. It's almost an epic, but except for the bugs caused by full of brain holes, it can only be said to be average as a whole. The length limit makes the rhythm of many clips inconsistent. Stable, the narrative is blunt, and the acting is mediocre.

Stargate quotes

  • Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neil: I'm on Planet 'X' lookin' for a dweeb who wears green fatigues. He wears glasses.

[puts his hands around his eyes]

Skaara: [puts his hands around his eyes, copying O'Neil]

Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neil: He has long hair.

[puts his hand to his head and brings it down]

    Skaara: [salutes]

Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neil: And he

    [pretends to sneeze]

    Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neil: sneezes.

    Skaara: Ich!

    [clucks like a chicken]

Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neil: Chicken. Chicken! Yes, Chicken Man!

  • Dr. Daniel Jackson: [to Colonel O'Neil] I don't want to die. And your men don't want to die, and these people certainly don't wan to to die. It's a shame you're in such a hurry to.
