- In order to regain his body shape, Schwarzenegger had six months of physical training before filming the film and exercised for 3 hours a day.
- Boyd Holbrook and Jay Courtney were the final two candidates to play Kyle Rees. After numerous auditions, Jay Courtney was selected.
- According to screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis, the film script was inspired by "Back to the Future 2". Another part was inspired by "Star Trek" (2009).
- The producers had considered Nicholas Holt and Garnett Hedland as Kyle Rees, but they refused the audition. Taylor Kitsch has auditioned for this role.
- The trailer of the film uses Jetta's song "I'd Love to Change the World". The same song was also used in the trailer for another movie "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" starring Jason Clark.
- Actor candidates to play Danny Dyson include John Boyega and Dio Okonei. Boyega got the lead role in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and gave up the film.

Make a character blackened and creative, but the thinking can't keep up with the timeline setting. T800 is immersed in liquid metal to upgrade and the intention of the chicken ribs is too obvious. The lower part (if you still shoot) will replace Arnold with a personal replacement. I won’t be surprised.
