The Dark Knight Media Evaluation

"News Daily": "This is a film adapted from a comic, but it is also a dark and highly complex drama."
"New York Times": In terms of coldness, "The Dark Knight" is closer to David Fincher's "Zodiac" than Tim Burton's jokes and Gothic "Batman." "In other words, he is very close to Bob Kane’s original cartoon and Frank Miller’s 1986 reinterpretation. The movie is heavy, sometimes with Wagner's style, but Mr. Ledger's wonderful performance and the visual beauty of the movie are always exciting. (In the Imax part, it looks like an opera.) No matter how cynical you are with Hollywood, it’s hard not to be impressed by such a movie: it leaves enough space to show the clown out of the window of a police car, laughter In the falling wind, the neon lights of the city gleamed like brilliant pearls behind him. He is just a clown in black velvet, but also a classic in a sense.
Sohu Entertainment: In the compact action plot design of "The Dark Knight", more angles and broader perspectives are used to shoot, and the nearly perfect picture shocks the audience. If you are lucky enough to enjoy the IMAX version, you will be more surprised. Cheers and excites even more. The extraordinary thing about "The Dark Knight" is that it tells the audience that a hero continues to grow amidst his life experience and inner fears and nightmares.

The description of emotions is too general, and the action shots are not that exciting. The clown is indeed the best one among them.

I watched the film copy screening three times in Paris and the China Film Archive. It's a pity that it can't be regarded as an IMAX version.

The Dark Knight quotes

  • Natascha: How could you want to raise children in a city like this?

Bruce Wayne: [while having a fancy dinner with Harvey, Rachel] Well, I grew up in Gotham, and I turned out all right.

  • Harvey Dent: [while having a fancy dinner with Bruce, Rachel and Natascha] You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
