The director Hans Weingartner was born in Austria. His original major was physics and he studied neurology at the University of Vienna . In 1997, he began studying at the Art Academy in Cologne, Germany, and began directing some short films. In 2000, the director directed his debut film "The white sound", which is his second feature film.
