The visual design of the film draws on the characteristics of Francis Bacon’s paintings. After careful design, orange representing terror, maroon representing inquiry, and white representing hope have become the main colors of the entire film. In addition, Dereksen also refers to the visual styles of Dario Aquido and Ingmar Bergman. In the film, unless it is the scenes that pay the most attention to faith and tradition, other scenes strive to present real life. Deliberately stay away from Gothic style.
In the filming of Emily’s world, designer Bruce Bin worked closely with photographer Tom Stern, and the two squeezed from the buildings Emily passed by, and increased the color saturation.
In terms of visual effects, the film uses advanced tracking makeup technology. The technology first draws a three-dimensional model of the actor's head on the computer.
