Under the control of British director Michael Winterbottom, the seemingly mouth-watering medical discourse is presented in a dark way that is almost beyond the mental capacity of ordinary people. The seemingly ordinary, even slightly dull western police officer, used extremely violent and brutal means to show the horror of this so-called "dissociation disorder".
Director Michael Winterbottom continued his controversial shooting method in the film, unscrupulously presenting sex and violence scenes on the screen, but there is nograndstanding. The baby-faced Casey Affleck performed this gloomy double-faced man just right.
The film is adapted from the novel of the same name, and retains the original features to the greatest extent. The film is basically based on Ford’s perspective, with a lot of narration. The treatment of violence in the film is different from the style of playing almost with blood plasma as syrup. When the gentle Ford suddenly slammed Joyce's beautiful face with a raining fist, there was no indirect description at all in this scene, all of which were true and bloody close-ups. In the film, Casey Affleck used his superb acting skills to interpret Ford, a sick killer with a serious inner distortion, into the woods, but under the surface of elegance, the audience always felt a faint chill. Although Jessica Alba doesn't have many scenes, the huge sacrifices made by several glamorous sex scenes and that scene that was "disfigured" are enough.
