The Lion in Winter evaluation action

This film is a palace drama with very strong and distinct characters, and it deeply portrays the desire for power of human beings. Peter Seamus Lorcan O'Toole and Katharine Houghton Hepburn bring that love-hate relationship to the fore and are the most bewildering "war couple" on screen. The writing, directing, filming, and music of this film are all top-notch, but unfortunately there are too many dialogues.
But this ancient costume film with a strong literary flavor has too many dialogues, too much like a drama.

Richard: You haven't said you loved me.
Philip II: When the time comes.
