The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by the American King of Pure Love, Nicholas Charles Sparks . At the same time, this novel is the fourteenth novel published by Nicholas Charles Sparks and the seventh novel he has been put on the screen. As an "American male Qiong Yao", Nicholas Charles Sparks has been creating pure love novels. Because American wars overseas have led to many young Americans serving in the military, Sparks also shifted the perspective of the novel overseas to portray the lives of young American soldiers. He wrote the novel "The Lucky One", and the novel presents a strong sense of fatalism and people's mastery of fate.
The script of the film was adapted by Will Fatters, who once wrote the script "Forget Me" about the love of rebellious teenagers. Fatters divides the film's story into two parts. The first part is Logan's love for the woman in the photo on the battlefield, and his various photos as a talisman ; the second part is the love story after the two of them met.
A love story at the back of the script is the main part of the story, and the beginning of the whole story is in the previous war. The love, persistence, and struggle for love at the back of the film are actually a kind of healing to the wounds caused by the war, from which there is a reflection of the war.
